    Description

    Migraleve Yellow – 24 Tablets

Migraleve Yellow tablets are a pharmacy-only medicine used to relieve the pain associated with migraines and headaches. Each tablet contains two active ingredients — paracetamol and codeine phosphate — which work together to provide effective pain relief during a migraine attack.

    How It Works

Paracetamol works by blocking the signals in the brain that tell us we are in pain, helping to reduce the intensity of migraine headaches. Codeine phosphate is a mild opioid pain reliever that enhances pain relief by acting on opioid receptors in the brain and nervous system, helping to ease moderate pain that paracetamol alone may not fully control.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: take 2 tablets at the first sign of a migraine attack. If symptoms return, take 2 tablets every 4 hours as needed. Do not take more than 8 tablets in any 24-hour period. Do not use for more than 3 days without speaking to a doctor. Migraleve Yellow is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • Children under 12 years of age
    • People who are allergic to paracetamol, codeine, or any other ingredient in this product
    • People with severe liver or kidney disease
    • People with breathing difficulties or respiratory depression
    • People who are ultra-rapid metabolisers of codeine (a genetic variation)
    • Breastfeeding mothers
    • People with a known history of opioid dependence
    • People taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have taken them within the past 14 days

    Interactions

Migraleve Yellow may interact with other medicines, including other paracetamol-containing products (risk of overdose), medicines that cause drowsiness (such as sleeping tablets, antihistamines, and antidepressants), anticoagulants such as warfarin, and certain medicines used to treat epilepsy or tuberculosis. Codeine may also interact with medicines that affect serotonin levels, such as some antidepressants. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Migraleve Yellow is not recommended during pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester, as codeine may cause withdrawal symptoms or breathing difficulties in the newborn. Codeine must not be taken by breastfeeding mothers, as it can pass into breast milk and cause serious harm to the baby. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

You should avoid drinking alcohol whilst taking Migraleve Yellow. Alcohol increases the risk of liver damage when taken alongside paracetamol, and can also intensify the drowsiness caused by codeine, making it dangerous to drive or operate machinery. If you drink regularly or heavily, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist before taking this medicine.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Migraleve Yellow contains codeine, which can cause drowsiness and dizziness, particularly when you first start taking it or at higher doses. You should not drive or operate heavy machinery if you feel affected by this medicine. The nature of a migraine attack itself may also impair your ability to drive safely.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
